I spent a gorgeous afternoon last Fall visiting with my best friend and her daughter. We only had 20 minutes to capture something special but the love runs deep here. Time stands still when we are together and I am reliving my childhood while marveling at the beauty of these two women. The gift of friendship is priceless!

I love everything about Nantucket! The roses that were incredible this year, the fairy tale perfection of trimmed privet hedges and perennial borders, riding a bicycle everywhere, the grey fog that settles in often, the surf and the sound of the ocean that lulls you to sleep at night.

I usually drop everything to photograph the heirloom peonies in my garden. I can't seem to get enough of them!

Mary Joy and Joe wanted traditional details for their second wedding. The theme was a celebration of the joining of two families with a ceremony at the quaint Talmadge Hill Church and reception at Woodway Beach Club. The Weather was perfect and having a tent wedding on the water is one of my favorite wedding styles.

This wedding took place at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church just as the Dogwoods were at their peak. The reception was held at The Burr Homestead which was decorated in a beautiful ivory and gold color palette. I was second shooting with Joanna Fisher who needed help photographing the details while she concentrated on capturing the bridal party. I love details so I was basically in heaven here!
My son attended the Hyde School Summer Leadership challenge in Bath, Maine this summer. He developed a bit of a following on the track since he is fast as a whip. School just started today and he is excited to be on the varsity cross country team. I'm looking forward to his next meet and I can't help but show my Hyde pride!

It's crazy that it's nearly Memorial Day and I'm still blogging snowy scenes. I shot Kerry and Justin's engagement at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in March. The landscape was beautiful and we were excited to find some snow still on the ground. I think that Kerry and Justin bring the fun with them wherever they go! Their Fox Hollow Country Club wedding is coming soon.
There were heirloom tomatoes and wildflower meadows, quaint little churches and a vintage firetruck displayed on a wooded roadside - a hero set out to pasture. I will always prefer the simpler life of summer.
Irun proposed to Erika at Fort Tryon Park so it was a natural choice for our engagement session. It's truly a gem just north of the bustle in midtown Manhattan. We didn't go into The Cloisters but the buildings exterior is incredible and the gardens are extensive. I'm really looking forward to their spring wedding at The New Haven Lawn Club!
